Algorfa has a mountainous backdrop and enjoys a wonderful climate with over 300 days of sunshine each year, an average temperature in the region of 19 degrees centigrade and very little rainfall – the Segura valley typically having the least rainfall in the whole of Spain.
The economy of the village depends mostly on citrus farming – primarily oranges and lemons, the trees of which stretch for miles around, lining every road. Algorfa is a typical Spanish village full of tradition and culture. It is a small village having a population of around 1,800.
Car hire is recommended to enjoy the surrounding areas, however, airport collection and drop-off can be arranged for approx 35 euros one-way.
